United developers, Inc. engaged Mercer Design Group, PC for the planning, design and construction administrators for the combined 120 unit Senior Housing and Community Resource Center project, administered and owned by The City of Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority. As one of several H.U.D. Hope VI Re-Development Programs, this urban re-development project involved the re-alignment and development of two new city streets as well as the development of a riverwalk park/pathway to integrate with the City’s ongoing parks improvement program.

The new City streets/sidewalks (1,000 LF/2,200 LF of sidewalks), as well as the internal sidewalks (1,200+LF) required the designs to fully meet ADA accessibility requirements from City streets and parking areas with 71 ADA parking spaces, to all buildings. MDG worked closely with the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority, Public Works Commission (Utilities) and City of Fayetteville Engineering and Traffic Divisions during the planning, design, permitting and construction phases.
